A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

The West Highland Way

The West Highland Way

The West Highland Way is one of the few long distance trails that I have walked in its entirety. However, it wasn't all done in one setting and there are parts that I'd like to walk again, even now. The stretch vetween Bridge of Orchy and Kingshouse Hotel is but one because I'd like to see the scenery north of Glencoe on a more sunny day like that which made going from Kinlochleven to Fort William most memorable. The first part of it was walked in earnest in 2002 and I hiked it in piecemeal fashion after that, completing it with a two day walk between Inverarnan and Bridge of Orchy. That was preceded by the Loch Lomond stretch between Inverarnan and Drymen, an overnight backpacking affair involving a stay at Rowardennan youth hostel. Though I question its routing in places, the trail undeniably is a great introduction to long distance walking in Scotland.
