The Peak District covers areas of Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Yorkshire and became Britain's first national park in 1951. Also, the fact that it is well frequented is only partly due to its proximity to places such as Manchester, Sheffield and Derby. It also contains stunning scenery, some of which you are about to see, and is a haven for hill walkers. The photos that you find here come from every county in the list apart from Yorkshire, though there is the Pennine Way album for that too. What I must admit is that I have designs on adding to and improving what's here though I remain amazed by my not making much of a start on that at the time of writing. Hopefully, that can be set to rights sooner rather than later.
