A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Pen-y-ghent & Plover Hill, North Yorkshire, England

This is the side of Pen-y-Ghent that travellers on the Settle-Carlisle railway see. Once down off the hill on the Pennine Way, walkers get to see this side too and, on a fine evening, views like this make the effort all the more worthwhile. So far, I have visited Pen-y-Ghent twice and the second of these was an out and out Pennine Way adventure. The first excursion took me up the easier side on a dull morning with a stroll over Plover Hill taking up the time until I made my way back to Horton on a memorable evening. It was on that first trip that I captured the scene that you see above.
