A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

River Wharfe near Grassington, North Yorkshire, England

Grassington is situated on a height looming over the River Wharfe and a cycle up the road into the village from the bridge where this photo was taken would leave you under no illusions as to that. One thing that you might be surprised to fins is how Yorkshire Dales roads and villages can take to the heights like this but I suppose that there's always the ever present risk of flooding. In that light, it's surprising how many idyllic settlements hug the Wharfe as they do.

If Grassington gets a little too busy for your liking, then a short trot downhill is all that's needed to find a little more personal space for yourself. The Dales Way goes by here with the bridge being where it leaves the river to head for the hills by going straight through Grassington along the way. Linton Falls are not far away but you might need to pick your time because many go that way.
