A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Win Hill, Bamford, Derbyshire, England

Win Hill is at the right and one of the bridges crossing Ladybower Reservoir can be seen at the left. The day had started off cloudy with some rainy spells but the late afternoon through this up when the clouds broke up. Win Hill is separated from nearby Lose Hill by the Vale of Edale, something that facilitates railway and road connections to the valley. Legend has that two battles were fought concurrently, one on Win Hill and the other on Lose Hill, and that is how the hills were named. There is little evidence to back this, though.
