A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

The Octagon, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, Derbyshire, England

Before its Opera House, Buxton gained a concert hall in the form of the Octagon. What cannot be denied is that it is a striking building that has been kept well through the ages since its opening in 1875. That it was designed by a local architect shows that there existed some local talent to do the job well. Today, it is but one of Buxton's collection of domed civic buildings and emphasises the previous importance of Buxton as a visitor magnet in former times.
