Quite how the camera film that I was using came to register the lighting on the landscape as golden is beyond me. Or was it that my wearing of sunglasses at the time altered my judgement of the exposure? It even may be neither of these but what was done by the lab when the print that I scanned was made. Regardless of that detail, I am unsure if looks all that natural even if the effect is pleasing. At the time, I was walking along the road from Grasmere looking for my planned right of way for taking me to Grisedale Tarn and Fairfield. For your information, Steel Crag is the one on the right with Helm Crag on the left. Consultation of a Wainwright guide was needed to set that issue of identification to rights.
