A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

The first time that I may have glimpsed this scene, the day was a cloudy September Sunday and I was a short stroll around by High Sweden Bridge from Ambleside. What you see above is what greeted me on a February Saturday after that. Some may decry the cloudless sky from a photographic point of view but, without it, the surrounding countryside would have been as well lit as it was. That gave me a pleasing introduction to summits such as Loughrigg Fell and Heron Pike together with loftier tops lining the north side of Great Langdale.
