A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

St. Michael's Church, Chester, Cheshire, England

St. Michael's Church, Chester, Cheshire, England

Appearances can be deceptive sometimes and so it is with this photo. For all the world, you'd be forgiven for thinking that this was a church located in a rural village somewhere in the north of England. In fact, the building is sited right next to the busy junction of Bridge Street, Grosvenor Street, Lower Bridge Street and Pepper Street in Chester. As if that subterfuge weren't enough It is not even a religious building these days either. In fact, it is the home of Chester History and Heritage these days. That's an agency of Cheshire West and Chester Council that acts as a first port for any historical explorations of the city and county. It even hosts a bank of historical images of the city too.
