A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Church of All Saints, Siddington, Cheshire, England

Cheshire is full of pretty villages and a good number of them have an interesting church. Siddington is no exception with its eye-catching specimen. The original structure of the church of All Saints was an oak-framed stone affair. However, its roof of heavy Macclesfield Slab (a heavy slate available locally) became too much for the walls and addition support was added. That took the form of erecting brick walls immediately outside the originals, robbing some of the original character in the process. In an effort to offset this, some of the brickwork was and is painted to make it look like the original timber framing. Saying that, the newer brickwork isn't everywhere so some of the original walls still can be seen on the outside but it still pays to go inside. Apparently, what is in there much more original that what you'd find on the outside.
