A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Innisfallen Abbey, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Éire

On the day I visited Ross Castle, I took a trip around Lough Leane on the intriguingly named "Waterbus". Lough Leane is the largest of Killarney's lakes, containing something of the order of thirty islands! The islands are not large affairs although, one, Innisfallen, is sufficiently large to give host to a now ruined abbey (part of which can be seen above). Of the other lakes, Muckross Lake is next to Lough Leane and the lakes are only separated by a narrow strip of land, and the Upper Lake is situated on the approach to the Black Valley that leads to the heart of the Reeks.
