A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Glanmore Lake, Lauragh, Co. Kerry, Éire

With scenery like this on offer, it is easy to see the appeal of crossing from Lauragh to Adrigole (or vice versa, if you prefer) via the Healy Pass. The road is a narrow affair so no coaches or other such large vehicles can come this way. That means that it’s not likely to get beset by hoards and is especially quiet away from the weekends.

This is the northward view and Glanmore Lake remains in shadow on a day when cloud obstructed the sun for much of the time. The shapely low-sized hummocks that are Stookeennalaokareha and Knockastumpa still sit proud of the landscape and look higher than their ca. 400 metre heights would suggest. In the distance, it is possible to pick out the Kenmare River (a sea inlet in reality) and the hills of Iveragh beyond it.
