A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Cadair Idris from Cerrig Arthur, Barmouth, Gwynedd, Wales

Here's a piece of advice for anyone fancying a weekend around Dolgellau during the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, do bear in mind that I met up the annual Cadair Idris hill race on the weekend from which I brought away this photo. It goes to show that decamping to Machynlleth doesn't stop you enjoying a circular walk starting and ending in the fleshpot that is Barmouth. The stiff pull up from sea level must have put off the more sedentary because there were plenty of quieter corners to be found.

Cerrig Arthur was but one of them and it granted decent views towards Cadair Idris too. On the day, it had relinquished its cloudy shroud though milky skies seem to be threatening on what was a warm sunny day when I was introduced to views up and down the Welsh coastline as well as the Mawdach estuary. Some of the Rhinogydd may have been glimpsed though time was to pass before I got to take an even closer look at them.
