A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

There is something above having a stream as foreground interest in a photo of a scene in wilder countryside and so it is here. Maybe that's one of the reasons why there are so many photos made of Buachaille Etive Mor in Highland Scotland. Here, the river is Afon Caseg and I was interested in getting across it when I spotted the potential of this image. That the curve in the watercourse takes the eye towards the top of Yr Elen is an added bonus from compositional standpoint. After a bit of wandering up and down the bank, I found a useful large steel box that somehow had made its way into the river and sat on a bank in the middle of it. Re-purposing it to make a crossing, I got to the other side to make a circular hike from what looked like being a linear out and back one done in limited time.
