A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Alltwen, Capelulo, Conwy, Wales

There was a lot of serendipity involved in my spotting this scene. First, I had to deviate away from the North Wales Path to pick up something a little more airy. The cause was a navigational misunderstanding but I am able to address such minutiae with a spot of attention to a map. Despite all appearances to the contrary, the heights aren't so heady here either with the main summit, Alltwen, being 255 metres above sea level. There, however, are steep gradients that hide a lot. Included among these are the Sychnant Pass and the old coach road that passes through it. Behind the hill lies the more modern A55 following its more level course and collections of houses on the outskirts of Penmaenmawr. It's amazing how wild this scene feels given it relative proximity to civilisation and how many were milling around it on the day that I passed the way.
