What you cannot sat about the October day on which I made the above image was that it was a day of muted colours. Between deep blues and unmissable purples, it was a more interesting feast for the eyes than it would have made in its largely green July coat. That's Cat Bells that intrudes from the left but it's Crag Hill that really protrudes with Causey being more intrudes as it attempts to hide the likes of Hopegill Head and Grisedale Pike, among others. The fact that I need a map to identify the summits in the photo is yet another reminder that the Derwent Fells offer walking possibilities that I have yet to use. Does that make for a longer weekend to be spent around Keswick? Only time will answer that.
