A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Along with a famous church, lake and monastic remains, Gougane Barra is also home to a forest park in what was once the off-limits Valley Desmond. For those like me who wish to stretch our lakes, there are forest paths to be explored too. This view of Com Rua or Comroe was captured from one of before I ventured higher into open country for a little while. These rugged hills may not have the height of Carrauntoohil, Brandon or Galtymore but they are pleasing to to the eye regardless. It's the sort of appearance that draws many into the outdoors and that applies as much to Ireland as anywhere. It's appropriate that our final calling point in West Cork allows us to leave it on such a high.
