A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

For some reason, the Dingle peninsula has never been an area that I have visited so often. Ironically, when I last visited it after Christmas in 2008, it didn’t fail to show its better side. This is the view across a bay towards a set of mountains that I might last have seen on a visit to Fenit on a cloudy day with a far less capable camera than what I have available to me these days. Then as now, the Slieve Mish mountains filled up the distant vista though they look far better when lit by late afternoon December sunshine like you see them above.

At the time when I was capturing scenes like what you see here, I was enjoying a short stroll along a track among the dunes near Maherabeg that was being used to take winter feeding to livestock. Continuing north of where I stood would bring to the sea and the islands of the Maharees. While the available light was superb, the available wind was biting but it goes to show that rewards are available to those prepared to brave the elements.
