A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Muckross Lake & Shehy Mountain, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Éire

My intuition would have had me believing that Torc Mountain is the main hump with Mangerton poking up behind. Inspection of a map confirmed that to be the misimpression that it is. It is, in fact, Shehy Mountain with Purple Mountain poking up behind. When I captured this sight for posterity, I was waling down the neck of land that separates Muckross Lake from Lough Leane on the tarmac track to Dinish Cottage and Meeting of the Waters. That would have brought me over Brickeen Bridge if I had the time to go further and even walk all around Muckross Lake. Not realising how near I was, I contented myself with reaching the shore of Lough Leane, a factor that helped in correcting my mistake. The hot sunny day distracted with the well lit scenes that surrounded me, so much so that I had an impatient octogenarian thinking that every minute that I was late was an eternity. Well, he was in the shade away from the real visual delights.
