The Paps, Barraduff, Co. Kerry, Éire

It's amazing what a stop at a shop for ice cream can bring you and here's an example of just that. If you were to stand in the village of Barraduff, you might wonder how I kept the image as wild as it looks. Well, it does explain why there is more blue sky than I'd have liked and the long end of a the 18-125 mm of a Sigma lens. Even then, a spot of clean up at the bottom was in order too. Hopefully, the results are worth all the effort. The Paps are a pair of hills that I have passed many a time while en route to Killarney and Kenmare without a stop for photographic capture that I seized any opportunity when it was granted to me; being with family meant that I couldn't just make a stop at a whim. Here, you even can see the cairns of their summits and their feminine appearance explains both their name and the old Celtic practice of ladies sleeping between them in the belief that the act aided conception; it apparently had something with beliefs in goddesses like Anuna.
