A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Upper Lake from Looscaunagh Hill, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Éire

This is vista similar to what you'd see from Ladies View, a little further downhill from here. There are advantages to staying away from the busier stopping point though others did have the same idea while we were gazing northeast from Looscaunagh Hill. No one got in anyone's way though, as the photo proves. That's Purple Mountain at the left with the Upper Lake beneath it. The rocky Cromaglan and Torc Mountain appear at the right. Look carefully and you might see a hill looking like the head of a pig. That's Torc and is it why it was called after a wild boar? Not everything is named in these parts but the names that are given can be more descriptive than you'd expect.
