A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Craigallian Loch, Strathblane, Stirling District, Scotland

Our journey along the West Highland Way will proceed in the direction in which most people walk it: northwards. If you were to walk the thing in one fell swoop, this could be the first taste of wildness that you get following the more manicured environs of Mugdock Wood. The countryside is open and you are not cosseted by woodland. The loch in question is hiding in the early morning shadows to the right but those tantalising hills in the distance are the Campsie Fells. Keep going north and you'll see much more of them. In fact, the next photo will grant you a closer view.
