A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Portree Harbour, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Portree Harbour, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Having a name derived from the Scots Gaelic for King's Port (Port Righ) should mean the Portree has a harbour and it is one surrounded by houses adding a dash of colour. In its own way, the result is reminiscent of Tobermory or West Cork villages like Castletownhend or Baltimore. This is is also the place to go on Skye if it is seafood that is amenable to your palate. It's certainly a good site for all of this with a sheltered inlet with added coverage offered by the island of Raasay as if Skye's indented coastline wasn't up to the job on its own, even with a certain eastern aspect.
