A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Gars-bheinn and Sgurr na Stri, Strath, Isle of Skye, Scotland

Many a photo captured by a photographer visiting Skye has these hills (Gars-bheinn on the left and Sgurr na Stri on the right the Cuillin behind them) somewhere in it with their being viewed from across Loch Scavaig too. One example that springs to mind is a composition by Joe Cornish for his book on the coast of Scotland but there are many others. The scene that you see above is a far more benign counterpoint to some of the photos that I have seen in print with their moody skies and associated tales of visits where the weather just wouldn't play ball; it might be that such dark skies suit the ruggedness of the landscape though. My contribution is much brighter and show how these parts appear when the day brings bright sunshine.
