It all might have the look of peaceful green lushness in the photo above but volcanic activity from aeons ago is what ultimately produced all of these bumps. Apparently, Scotland's seaboard was a hotspot with Mull's Ben More being the last of the active volcanoes in the area. These day, it is all very quiet around those parts and I cannot recall meeting a soul while probing the heart of Glen Clachaig. Mull's highest hill is a draw for hillwalkers though because of its height and many make it the last Munro of a round because of the outlying location. For one thing, public transport doesn't land you at its foot so you need others and that's why I chose a long walk. With the time that was available to me, an attempt of reach the summit of Ben More wasn't in order so I didn't so much as contemplate the idea. With sufficient time and inclination, I might have been tempted to go around by Loch Bà and Glen Clachaig anyone because there is a hill track leading onto the ridge leading towards that hilltop. However, I was more than content to leave any such feat for another time.
