A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Loch Lochy, Achnacarry, Lochaber, Scotland

Loch Lochy, Achnacarry, Lochaber, Scotland

This is the northeastward view along Loch Lochy. The Great Glen Way is, like the West Highland Way, an undertaking lasting a week or more. Once past Loch Lochy, a long loch, the way then passes Loch Oich and Loch Ness, much much longer than Loch Lochy, before terminating in Inverness. The country through which the way passes is also isolated in places so you need to be prepared for this. It does have one advantage over the West Highland Way, though, in that it is dog-friendly throughout. Incidentally, there is also an off-road biking trail that shadows the long distance footpath for those of that persuasion.
