A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

It is hard to go into Glen Nevis with encountering the West Highland Way and that's what you need to do in order to reach our first vantage point. Inspired by the photos of Colin Prior and in hope of seeing some snow, I took the Sleeper to Fort William from Crewe and enjoyed a stellar stroll on a wonderful January day. That walk was to take me along the WHW and then onto a path to the hill of An Dùn, on which the old fort of Dun Deardail is found.

Memorable views in the sunshine late on a fabulous January day were my reward for my exertions so here's one. There's no sight of snow but the interplay of sun and shadow add interest to thus photo looking westward towards Loch Linnhe with Meall an t-Suidhe catching the light and the low sun leaving a lot in shadow.
