A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Ben Nevis, Fort William, Lochaber, Scotland

Ben Nevis, Fort William, Lochaber, Scotland

This is the western aspect of Ben Nevis and both its whale-back and cliff faces are on display. Meall an t-Suidhe shows its appearance on the right and the contrast between its green slopes and the Ben's rocky appearance is striking. I must admit that apart form a short trip up the Glen Nevis path and that was only to see more of Glen Nevis on my first trip there (amazingly, no one had a word with me for not being sufficiently equipped for the full ascent; I knew my limitations anyway), I have never made any attempt to ascend Scotland's highest mountain. Apart from my not trusting my head for heights, there is simply loads more to see in Lochaber and the idea has never been high on my priority list. I think that you can expect me on Ben Nevis when you see me.
