Their rugged profiles do give you pause for thought when you realise the Ben's aptitude for getting covered in clag at any time of year and snow during winter. The Five Fingered Gully is a notable death trap at these times. While the Ben is the most climbed mountain in Scotland, it is prospects like this that make you wonder if everyone whose summits the mountain is really up to the challenge.
