Bà Bridge, Black Mount, Argyll & Bute, Scotland

In a landscape large devoid of human habitation, even a mere bridge over a young river can act as a significant landmark. Such is Bà Bridge. When I was looking at this photo recently, it took a while and several maps to work out what I was looking at: my old bugbear of the identification of mountains. I have worked out that the round hump peering through the tress above is in fact Meall a' Bhùiridh. This is part of a ridge of mountains extending from Glen Coe. What I did not realise until recently was the distance the West Highland Way and the drover's track along which it runs veers out of its way to avoid going over this mountainous mass.
