A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Aonach Beag, Glen Nevis, Lochaber, Scotland

Aonach Beag (little ridge) is higher than Aonach Mor (big ridge). That would be ironic but for my realisation that big and little probably do not have anything to do with height in this context: Aonach Mor is certainly longer than Aonach Beag and I think that length is the origin of the naming. Maybe, it is a warning against literal translations: how about long ridge (Aonach Mor) and short ridge (Aonach Beag). To tally up as the mountain behind the shadowed Meall Cumhann, Aonach Beag would have to be a shorter ridge. For the record, I will venture that the cheeky peak poking up at the right is most likely Sgurr a' Bhuic. Sgurr Choinnich Beag is another possibility but I reckon that it is obscured by my choice.
