A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Old Town Skyline, Edinburgh, Scotland

Old Town Skyline, Edinburgh, Scotland

What better a way is there to start a ramble around Edinburgh than with a view of the skyline of its older parts from atop the Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park. While still resident in the city, I passed through these thoroughfares of undeniable antiquity and they attracted the attentions of a then occasional snapper. These days, I might like to think that my efforts are more considered and the photo that you see here is a photographic reprise with a Pentax DSLR performing the duties and not the Canon film SLR that supplied the previous entry in this slot. Brighter skies and sunlit buildings like Edinburgh Castle, the Tron Kirk and St. Giles' Cathedral. The castle should be easy to identify as may be the spire of the kirk but finding the crown atop the tower of the cathedral could need a spot more effort amid the crowd of buildings that brings so many to Scotland's capital city.
