A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Another photograph in this album or slide show (depending on how you choose to see things) has the viewer looking towards New College from Princes Street so this is how things appear on looking back the other way. The road climbing The Mound sweeps by the porticoed buildings housing both the National Gallery of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Academy as it connects Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Princes Street Gardens, created after the draining of the Nor' Loch as allotments for private residences but now a public amenity beneath the city's castle, line both sides of the thoroughfare and the Scott Monument is unmistakeable at the right hand side of it all.
