Holyrood Palace as seen from Calton Hill, Edinburgh, Scotland

Going up onto Calton Hill leads us to this view of Holyrood Palace, which is situated at the bottom of the Royal Mile and is the residence of the Royal Family in Edinburgh. The Queen spends a number of weeks here every summer but it is otherwise open to the public. A great amount of history has taken place within its walls during its existence (at least a few hundred years) and is too large to document on a single web page so I'll leave it for you to find out more.
