A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Edinburgh Castle as seen from the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, Scotland

We finish our journey around Edinburgh in its botanical garden but with a view of something we saw at the beginning of ramble: its castle. Neighbouring Inverleith Park is a favoured location for viewing firework displays centred around Edinburgh Castle and this photo provides the reason why. Both it and the Royal Botanic Garden offered an elevated view over the city as far as the castle and you view the front of the castle without having to be in Princes Street, avoiding the crowds in the process.

With all that is offered by the Royal Botanic Garden, it is a wonder why I had not visited it before 2003. Then again, Edinburgh's southside was my stomping ground, which probably explains why.

My time in Scotland has never been all spent in Edinburgh, though. Nevertheless, I probably have seen more of Scotland outside of Edinburgh since I left it than when I lived there. The gallery continues with photos from these places.
