A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Dean Village, Edinburgh, Scotland

Dean Village, Edinburgh, Scotland

Staying at the west but moving a mile or two north of Princes Street, we reach Dean Village. This is a part of Edinburgh that I hadn't visited until 2003. From this view, it might be hard to realise that you are actually in a city but that is the beauty of Edinburgh. I took this photo from a bridge crossing the Water of Leith when walking from the Dean Gallery to Leith on what turned out to be a sunny Sunday evening after a cloudy start. I travelled between these points on the Water of Leith Walkway, which I only discovered in 2003. This is not the only walkway that allows you to get away from it all right in the heart of Edinburgh but it is certainly one that I have enjoyed.
