You are here: Photo Gallery » Bruntsfield Links, Edinburgh, Scotland

Moving to the western side of Edinburgh, we come to an area where I lived for three years, Bruntsfield. This is Bruntsfield Links, a nearby open park. Views from here include Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags, which we have just seen close up. There are plenty of other things to see, though. For instance, you may just notice Edinburgh's castle lurking in the background and this is as good a place as any to witness to fireworks displays emanating from the castle, such as those at the close of the Edinburgh Festival in August, for instance.
Otherwise, the Links are noteworthy for their association with the game of golf, apparently from the earliest days of the game. Even now, they are home to a short-hole course. So you still have to watch out for golf balls when relaxing here on a summer evening!
