A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Glen House, Traquair, Borders, Scotland

Glen House, Traquair, Borders, Scotland

I encountered the house pictured above not far from the route of the Southern Upland Way but my walk was not following it that day, at least apart from a tiny road section round Traquair. My hike on the hot June day in question took me from Peebles along an old drovers' road until after Kirkhope Hill where I spied a new track not on the map. Rethinking my plans, I self-consciously made use of the Scotland's enlightened access legislation and I ended up passing Glen House on my way to Traquair and Innerleithen. While the house in question isn't of any particular note, it was it architectural features, turrets and the like, that caught my eye.
