A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Lairig Dhoireann, Argyll, Scotland

After a tiring climb up to Lairig Dhoireann from Glen Strae, this view greeted me, almost as if it were some recompense for all the effort and any showers that had met me before then. The breaks in the cloud and the side lighting from the evening sun were a sign of things to come as I made my way to Taynuilt where a taxi picked me up and carried me back to Oban. Though midges abounded, the showers had abated and it was all glorious as I shortened the distance to the shores of Loch Etive and beyond. First though, I had to lose some height and the cleft you see above was my passage downhill. It was both steep and boggy but I bombed down regardless.

Looking at the photo above, it would be tempting that Glen Kinglass was in that groove and I certainly was fooled at first on the day. In fact, a more recent look at the photo had me baffled before I read the description that was the predecessor of the words that you find here. After some inspection of digital maps, I have decided that the sunlit hump is none other than Meall Beithe with Meall Garbh to its right and several Munros such as Beinn nan Aighenan behind that again.
