A Wanderer's Photo Gallery
One of the things that gets me exploring Britain and Ireland is the prospect of bringing away some pleasing photos of my own making with me. Not only has that fostered the growth of an interest in hillwalking and cycling but it also has driven me to further the photography itself. All that has created the library of images from which the collections that you find here have been drawn.

Salvation Army Citadel, Castlegate, Aberdeen, Scotland

Look down along Aberdeen's Union Street from its western end and this will be one of the landmarks that catches your eye. Apparently, it sits on the site Aberdeen's long gone castle. What came as a surprise to me was that it was home to the Salvation Army in Aberdeen. In some people's eyes, that makes the baronial style construction a church and its been through a multi-million pound restoration recently too. That and the fact that the building is made granite both explain why the stonework looks so fresh. So, how did I get the impression that its windows needed a little work with all else that has been done to it? On that matter, I have little to offer but I now wonder if I somehow got the wrong impression.
