St. John's Church, Chester, England![]() |

Beside the remains of the Roman Amphitheatre, you will find St. John's Church. Between 1075 and 1102, this was Chester's cathedral. It may not be obvious from the photograph, but the trees at the left conceal extensive ruins beside the church. These were once part of the church but fell into a state of disrepair as a result of disuse, not something that applies to the rest of the building: it still is in regular use as a place of worship.
